WHAT IS BIRD FLU?
Bird flu is also called H5N1, avian influenza
Bird flu is caused by a type of influenza virus that rarely infects humans. Bird flu affects mainly chickens, ducks, etc, and less commonly in pigs. More than a dozen of bird flu have been identified, including the two strains that have most recently infected -H5N1 & H7N9.
how does bird flu spread?
- Bird flu spread from infected birds to other birds through contact.
- contamination of feed and water.

Symptoms of bird flu may begin within 2 to 7 days of infection
